More and more of Donald Trump’s co-conspirators are now going under the microscope of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and the situation has been looking exceedingly bad — exponentially worse, in fact — for the president.
Despite the fact that the Tweeter in Chief has been very busy on Twitter coming up with distractions to keep the attention off of his Russia investigation, it hasn’t stopped Mueller from making progress in the Russia probe at all. In fact, it seems to be providing more fuel.
ABC News has just reported that Mueller has just obtained the computer and phones of Blackwater founder Erik Prince, an ally to the president. Earlier today, the military contractor’s electronic property was given to Mueller, following reports that he was “cooperating” with investigators last week.
Prince is the brother of another one of Trump’s corrupt pals, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. Prince has been one of the many targets in the Russia probe due to his participation in a shady meeting in Seychelles not too long after Trump’s inauguration. That meeting was held with the intent of creating a backchannel between Trump and Russia.
Just last month, it was reported by the New York Times that Prince had lied during a sworn testimony before the House Intelligence Committee. The lie was apparently over Prince’s arrangement of a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Arab officials with the goal of helping Trump secure the presidency.
Trump and anyone associated with him (past and present) should be terrified. Mueller is moving in and people are beginning to drop like flies. Trump, more than anyone else, should be concerned as his shady buddies decide to turn on him and cooperate with investigators in hopes of saving their own asses. This is not going to end well for the president, and he’s the only one who can’t accept it.
