Florida Attorney General and loyal Donald Trump supporter Pam Bondi (R) was met with a very unpleasant surprised while leaving a screening of the new Mr. Rogers documentary, Won’t You Be My Neighbor.
A video posted on Twitter shows the AG being led out of the building by police officers as dozens of protesters chanted slogans and demanded Bondi stand against Trump’s assault on the Affordable Care Act.
“What would Mr. Rogers think about you and your legacy in Florida? Taking away health insurance from people with pre-existing conditions, Pam Bondi!” yelled Maria José Chapa, a labor organizer, according to the Tampa Bay Times. “Shame on you!”

The video was taken and upload to Twitter by Timothy Heberlein, a member of the progressive group Organize Florida.
Heberlein admitted to the Times that he and his associates would have confronted Bondi regardless of what film she chose to see. However, he noted that the overall message of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” ran counter to Bondi’s inhumane decision to join in with 19 other Republican-run states in a lawsuit aimed at overturning essential parts of the Affordable Care Act.
The suit would put an end to one of the most important parts of Obamacare which protect people with pre-existing conditions from being denied coverage by insurance companies.
“I feel like even if we went to see ‘The Incredibles’ we would have said something,” Heberlein said.
Bondi addressed the protesters in a phone call, characterizing them as bullies.
“We were in a movie about anti-bullying and practicing peace and love and tolerance and accepting of people for their differences,” Bondi said. “That’s what Mr. Rogers is all about. We all believe in free speech, but there’s a big difference there.”
Of course, leave it to a Republican to cry about “bullying” just because protesters are trying to keep her from taking away their healthcare. How dare they want people to live!
